LLECE education evaluation coordinators to meet in Peru
LIMA – The Latin American Laboratory for the Evaluation of Education Quality (LLECE), coordinated by the UNESCO Regional Education Office, will hold its XXVII Meeting of National Coordinators in Lima, Peru on December 15 and 16, 2011.
The meeting will be held in the Hotel Sol de Oro according to the UNESCO regional office, and is considered an important step in the implementation of the 3rd Comparative and Explicative Regional Study (TERCE), which will be fully implemented throughout the region in 2012.
LLECE coordinator, Moritz Bilagher, says that what fundamentally distinguishes TERCE from other similar studies is that it’s purpose is not only to attain world class education, but to develop capabilities at a national level in participating countries.
Coordinators will discuss advances in LLECE’s general plan and make agreements on the next phases of the study. Advances made on CTAN’s recommendations will also be addressed. CTAN (High Level Technical Consultant Council) is comprised of education evaluation experts from all over the world.
